2015 chevy malibu

Hello I AM GOING TO BUY A 2015 MALIBU AND TOW IT 4 WHEELS DOWN. I just wanted to know if other RV's have towed this model and what were the + and - of the car. Thank you for any help Kenny
  • I've owned 3 Malibu's(04,08 and a 12)towed them all 4 down, all over the
US, Mexico and Canada and never had a towing related problem.
  • While I am going through the same thing, I am thinking new Malibu vs Fusion which among the 2017 is limited - Base Malibu with the 1.5 engine only, and Fusion Hybrid (or Hybrid Energi) only for 4 down. The good news is that the 2015 Malibu owner's manual is online at Chevrolet.com (links at bottom of their web page in the owners section) and there was no engine/transmission restriction for 4 down or dolly tow the front wheels of the 2015. Just instructions on fuse pulls, typical of GM toads, and limit to 65mph.
  • Didn't even realize you could still tow the Malibu 4 down. I rented one while my Passat was in the body shop, and compared with the Passat (same class of car) it got poor fuel economy and the interior is small and cramped. But it drove fine, and being able to tow it 4 down is a huge plus.
  • I went ahead and bought the late model 2016. The car is really nice and at 3080 pounds tows great. Kenny
  • Hogbob,
We just purchased a 2016 Malibu Premier 2.0 Turbo. We love the car.
I am in the process of getting it ready to tow. I just posted on this forum a problem with coming up with an idea for hooking up tail lights.
I will appreciate any comments from your Malibu towing experience, especially what you did with rear lights. I really don't want to go with external lights though.
    Thanks
