A few brave souls on the road today...

Saw one big tour-bus sized RV, and a dually Dodge towing a really long 5er on the highway this evening, in near blizzard conditions. Strangely, they were both headed North, deeper in Michigan's snowy grasp.

Brave souls behind the wheels, maybe they were headed to the free hook-ups at the casino.

Well I guess we made a serious mistake in planning one July when we hit a snow storm in Southwestern Colorado @ a 10,000ft pass. Hope we never have that happen again.

The only mistake is when people keep driving a RV in it when their actual road conditions get bad. Those coming home most likely know their limits. The other's are fools. I would think most pull off and stop when warranted. During storms no one will get chased away for waiting out a storm in a parking lot. You might be directed to a better location in that area.

We were held up an extra day in a Cody WY campground waiting for the road to Yellowstone to clear. That was in the second week of June about 4 years ago. They posted conditions at the park.
  • There are quite a few RVers who use the RV while going snowmobiling. Pretty hard to do that when the snow is gone.

  • It sounds like they headed north a couple weeks too early and ran into the never ending winter.
I hope they made it safely.
  • Or they were only 100 miles from home and there was no place to stop & camp.
