Sorry, but it seems like they saw you coming a mile away. Buyers need to do their due diligence. A salesman and company is out to make as much money as possible. A buyer should be looking to get the best deal possible.
The OP should have known if he was getting a fair price or not. If the trailer costs the dealer $27K, he should have known that a $24K price is absurd. If EVERYONE is selling that model for $28.5K and you get a quote for $24K... something is up.
If the OP doesn't have a signed sales contract, he is promised NOTHING. All the emails in the world don't mean a thing.
If the OP got strong armed into paying too much, or more than he wanted to, that is on him.
It seems to me that in the 6 weeks between the promised date of delivery and the actual date of delivery he probably could have found another dealer that sold the same trailer.
It seems to me that I would know my floorplan in and out as well. Especially if I had to wait 6 weeks after ordering it.
I hate to sound like a meanie pants... but come on man, you gotta do your due diligence or expect to get spanked.
How about getting your facts straight. We got a price on a Keystone Cougar 24wrks. I had checked the internet for prices and the lowest prices I saw were about the same price as we were quoted.
As I stated, apparently Keystone stopped making the 24wrks for 2015 and we were never told that. When we got there, the floor plan looked very similar to the one we ordered. There were a few changes but we thought they were due to it being a 2015 model. The sticker on the trailer listed it as a 24wrks and on one of the papers we signed it said the same thing. It was only when we got home, and I went on Keystones' website was when I noticed they didn't show the one we ordered any more. That was when I looked through the paper worked and another paper showed a different model.Apparently,Keystone changed their models on their website sometime after we ordered our unit.
And that may have been one reason the price was higher.Plus, the salesman said he figured $5,000 on a trade which we told him right off the bat there was no trade. He claimed he sent us an attachment with this on but we never got any attachment. And don't you think if he could have produced proof that we received that paper work that they would have offered to give it to us at their cost????????????? Then look at how I was misled as to when the trailer would arrive, how it was never scheduled to ship and then the price and the model change????????????????And one more thing. E-mails can be introduced in court as proof so when you say e-mails mean nothing, you're wrong again.
