Add lift arms to front compartment

Anyone add lift arms to the front compartment? I have them on both side ones and the front, though pretty easy, always needs to be held up so I can dig out what I want. Lifts can't be that hard I'd think.

Anyone have experience?

My new RV had lift arms on one side of the pass through storage and not on the other side. The side that had them is under the bedroom slide so a holding hook was not possible. I looked at the arms on the one side which was 2 each 40 lb, 20 inch arms. I found them at the local RV store for $19 each and brackets for $12 for 4. Now both doors work the same.

I had no idea what I needed so I bought the kit from PPL Motorhomes: Lift kit . That should give you a place to start anyway.

The front does have a lift clasp, but just looking for another way with lifts, like the side doors.

Any recommendations on length or lift weight.

I added a lift arm to one of the small ones on the side, and it was no big deal. Drill a couple holes, glue on a plate, and that's pretty much it.

Doesn't the front one have some kind of catch to hold it up? Or are the lifts just worn out?
