Here's some interesting reading. There's even a section on NY:
https://www.professorhinkley.com/blog/why-is-oregon-still-on-lock-down
Careful! As I said earlier, an "internet pandemic"... I looked up "Professor Hinkley", didn't see anyone connected to Oregon health system, but... did find this thread on Reddit (yes, more internet stuff), talking about a link with "wildly inaccurate information":
https://www.reddit.com/r/Portland/comments/fw3ews/a_blog_post_with_some_wildly_incorrect/
From that link:
"I'm a doctor and saw a very concerning blog post making the rounds on social media. I won't be posting a link to the original blog post (it was removed from Medium because it had false information but has been re-posted elsewhere on the internet), but if you really want to find it, look for a post by "Professor Hinkley". As far as I can tell, "Professor Hinkley" has no background in medicine, epidemiology, or public health."
So, I have no idea what is true....
Just to be perfectly clear. I don't have to trust one single thing he personally wrote. He did a nice job of collating information from reputable sources and included links to all. The "internet" can be used appropriately for information.
Professor Hinkley is from Gilligan's Island, so is nothing more than a screen name. He could be a nut-job or a legit professor or medical professional who wouldn't dare go public if his opinion didn't match group-think.
It's just one set of data among many others.
