Reasoning is explained in the opening comment...curiosity of whether or not one is better than the other. If there is no benefit, then there is no reason to change.

All you said was "upgrade" and there are often reasons over just wanting the best. The Batwing outperforms anything else out there but its also more prone to internal breakage due to the long VHF element. There is yet another FCC reshuffle of the TV channels coming now due in March 2016, and when that happens there is a better than excellent chance that the VHF channels will again fill up. Of the three antennas mentioned in this thread, the Batwing is the only one that was built with VHF in mind. I suspect the competition will scramble to catch up in the next few years.
