Ants

We currently live in Washington and have never had any problem with ants, mice, or other pests in the RV. We are about to leave to move to Georgia, via Colorado and Oklahoma. At what point should we start to use that ant repellant spray (and what is its name again)? And what about mice - when are we likely to start having problems with them? Thanks!

You should keep the liquid ant bait under all the sinks and the couch in the RV at all times. That will 'prevent' you from being over run by the pesky southern ants.

Every time you park sprinkle "powered" Sevin (can be found at Tractor Supply stores)all around the tires of your RV and everything that touches the ground. Make sure you sprinkle it on and over all cords and water hoses coming from your RV.


And 'never leave anything propped up against the side of your MH.

Being proactive like you requested IS the best way to keep these ants out of an RV. If allowed to come in and flourish it takes 'weeks' to get rid of them.

Being a newbie first time in Florida I didn't know all of this and was over run by ants in the MH. 😞

After buying just about every ant bait this is the only one that really worked. "Liquid' ant bait. Make sure to keep away from your pets.



If you do all of the above you should be free of ants. So head on down south the weather is fine! :C

As soon as you leave Washington, you are in danger. Simply put, there are bugs out there. Good luck.

Currently live in GA, it'll be 9 years in July. Have owned 2 RVs while living here. Never had a mouse, ant or any other critter in either RV.

They do attract Tree Frogs though. On our HTT, without fail, whenever we'd drop one of the beds, a tree frog would usually jump on someone. They never made it past the seal into the RV.

Last year on a drive to NJ a tree frog slowly crawled from behind the side view mirror on the driver's side of the Motorhome. I checked the mirror and there he was. I tried to keep him from crawling too far out, but he didn't understand.

I've never even seen a mouse while living here. We have lots of snakes, so I guess that's why. Never had a snake in either RV either.

As long as you have the bottom sealed up tight and don't leave any open containers of food around, or crumbs on the floor for that matter you shouldn't have any problems with either.

we use the small ant baits that you can buy at the supermarket. Put 4 of them throughout the RV. Follow directions on pkg. I would put them out as soon as you arrive in GA.

I don't know if you will have problems with mice but those pesky little ants will crawl right up your electrical and water lines and into the camper. I usually spray under the coach with ant spray and put the ant powder on the cords and that usually keeps them out. If you have pets keep the pet food up and covered.

Why would moving cause you to have mice, or ants :?. As long as you don't leave food out for them to come for. you won't have any
