Anyone Bought RV/Camping Supplies At A Rummage Sale ?

I went to a rummage sale this weekend and purchased two small chairs that foldup twice for very easy storage. (2 bucks each)

Bought an "on demand" 8 piece fire ring for when I am dry camping in a secluded area. (5 bucks)

Got a smaller than twin size air mattress for 5 bucks. This will be great to use for when I fold down the captains chairs to sleep.

Just wondering who else has got great deals on RV/camping supplies at rummage/garage sales, flea markets etc.

We purchased a brand new Barker blue tote - 4 wheel from a Craigslist ad for $75.00. Someone had bought it and never used it. We did, at our first summer workamping position. Needed it all summer. At least 1/2 price.

I got my first camper at a yard sale many years ago. I got there a little late and they were packing up the unsold stuff. They had an Apache Hard Side pop-up next to the driveway with $500.00 on it. I asked about the camper that the lady said that if I would haul it away it was mine. I hooked it up and away I went. Got home and the top would not go up. Found out it was a broken "chain type mechanism" and I had one made at a local shop for $25.00. Used that camper for several years. Wish I still had it just for the sentimental value as the wife and I spent our 9 day honeymoon in it at a campground on Lake Seminole.
Great story!

This isn't exactly camping gear, but I bought a pair of downriggers for my boat, at a garage sale for $20. The lady wanted to throw in a fishfinder for free, I refuased and told her that it was worth at least $100.

I usually buy little remnant 2ft. by 1ft. rugs at Ollies. They are only $1.99. They do great in the Class B.

I'm always on the hunt for Lodge brand cast iron cookware. Why someone would EVER get rid of that stuff is beyond me. It lasts a lifetime.

Check out your local Goodwill and Salvation Army stores. I almost always see it there. It may be rusty and need a cleaning but who cares? ๐Ÿ™‚

I see a lot of that too. Even yard sales have gotten "pricey" compared to days gone by. Don't even get me started on pawn shops!:E

Yard, garage, rummage sales are like the clearance aisle at Wal- Mart: you never know what you're gonna get. But if you look long enough the cool stuff is there!

Yesterday, I bought a DVD (Fever Pitch) for a dollar.

A margaritaville shot glass for 25 cents.

Both will be used for camping.

Howdy,
The wife just picked up 42 (11") Corelle (SP.) dinner plates, white with blue flowers on the edge (new). And two really old wooden captains chairs all for 12 bucks.
Garage sales are really great. Now I guess I shall have to have one hell of a big party with all of those plates, or my family will all be using the same dinner plates. If you are not aware, 11" plates are huge, big steak fits just fine!
