Available now - for seasonal workkamping

Our timing is off but - my husband Robert and I are available immediately for seasonal workkamping.

We have a variety of experience and education -- and are willing to learn NEW. We have been full-timers for 3 years and have been workkamping almost steadily for the past year until March 15.

We got tied up after March 15 completing appts. etc. in Yuma AZ

We workkamped in CALIFORNIA campgrounds/day area Spring and Summer 2014 season then maintenance/kitchen in winter 2014 season - Yuma AZ

I gave a little assist with some virtual business services - but I completed it earlier than I had anticipated.

We were going to just take the summer off - but have decided want to get to work!!

Robert retired early from CATERPILLAR after 30 years (electrician) and I have several years office experience. We both have college education (incl. B.S. - Psych/SLSS * Long Term Care Admin)

We are currently in L.A. -- can leave immediately. We can't do high elevations (over 7,000 - I'd almost prefer to say not over 6,500 ft.) or extreme temps (no desert summer). We need to have hookups i.e. electricity and cell reception - we have best carrier Verizon. (we thought we were going to a position and found out it had neither, oh and would have been beautiful)...

Anyone know of anything?
  • A long way from you now, but the Ga. state parks have openings for camp hosts, golf course hosts and train hosts.
  • I have seen where Virginia has some short term positions open also.
  • Thank you ALL so much for your replies... I hope others find this helpful too!

We definitely want to stay more west. I am going to learn re Monument CO -- i.e. elevation and WHO to contact i.e. management company... any information appreciated

Hey Army Guy -- this is not military is it? Just checked one out in California that you had to be retired military - we are not.
  • Looks like some places too high as Monument CO google said Elevation 6,975 ft ...

Does anyone know WHO to contact in Monument CO re workkamping?
  • I want to thank everyone jumping in to help out!

We actually ended up choosing between 3 offers on the same day --

We have accepted a workkamper position at Beaver Lake Campground, Custer SD
At first it was just going to be me working in the office there - but we are excited to learn they will be needing my husband, Bob too!

We were at Balboa RV Park in Van Nuys (Los Angeles, CA) when we got word yesterday morning -- we are now about 20 miles West of Las Vegas!

Thanks again everyone - have a wonderful summer and God Bless! - Deb
