I've used "Liquid Stitch" to glue my woven acrylic Care Free awning. Worked great and is waterproof and permanent. Drys clear also. Liquid Stitch is available in the sewing area of many stores. I got mine in Walmart a few years ago.
Note: Liquid Stitch will NOT work on vinyl awning material.
