Baseplate Install South Texas - Recommendation

I got a 2013 Fiat 500 to tow behind our new Forest River Forester Class C and ordered a baseplate from BlueOx.

I didn't want to use Camping World to install it - and was casting about looking for someone to do this work. Finally, I did a Google Search and found a guy on Craigslist in San Antonio that has made a little business of installing baseplates, lighting systems and braking systems.

He moved to South Texas from Tucson and worked at the Camping World there installing baseplates on all many of vehicles.

He's not exactly dirt cheap, but less than anyone else and he did a great job.

$200 flat rate on the baseplate and less attractive was the $200 for the lighting system. But I figure anywhere else would have cost at least $150 more total. He knew exactly what he was doing, did a professional job right in my driveway and cleaned up after.

So, if you're in South Texas PM me and I'll pass on the young man's info.

PS. Don't neglect Craigslist when buying your towbar or Aux Braking either. I found a $675 BlueOx Alpha Towbar with all the accessories and obviously very little wear for $250 on my local CL.

It's nice to read a positive report on workmanship.

And yes, there's some good stuff out on CL. We bought a Falcon II towbar on CL and a base plate on eBay.
