- AtleeExplorer IIIf you trust a consignment place to sell your trailer why not stop in at PPL, since you are down in Texas already.
If I weren't 2/3 of the country away, I would check them out.golf_bears wrote:
srt20,
Struggling with the same issue. We are in the RGV,TX right now and have the For Sale sign up on our 2008 Mobile Suites. If we don't sell it down here we'll return to WI for the summer. At that time will post to CL and see what happens. Please keep me posted on your progress via this thread, where you post, how much activity, any serious lookers, etc. Thanks, - my_toysExplorerCould search brand name facebook groups. I know Jayco has a forum. They have a spot to post for sale stuff.

You'll be passing right by PPL in Houston. They sold ours within one month - 10% commission and we put a price on it to reflect it. It was a super easy process and I'd recommend them. They get a lot of traffic going through their facility.

I guess I'll just go with what's been mentioned here, RVTrader, CL, etc.
Thanks - WILDEBILL308Explorer IIOne good thing about PPL they will clean and detail your coach so it shows well and will help to get it sold for the most money.
Bill - joe_b_Explorer IISeveral factors to consider. Is the unit being sold paid for in full where the owner is holding the title. These sales tend to go smoother for private sales than do the ones where the unit is financed. The real problem is where the unit is financed and the buyer is also wanting to finance the purchase. The original company doesn't want to release the title till they see the money and the second mortgage company doesn't want to send their money till they have the title. A real catch 22 situation.
The PPL site is a world of information, watch the video on their home page, even if a person doen't use them to buy or sell. They list the selling prices of the last few thousand RVs they have sold. Probably the biggest problem I have had in trying to deal with private sellers is them letting their pride of ownership get involved in the pricing of their unit. Set the selling price to be reasonable and all a person needs then is a willing buyer. Most of the private sales I have gone to check out that have been listed as "just like new and top of the line" have been over priced worn out machines.
Most finance companies seem to prefer to deal with a reputable dealer than a private seller, unless the rig is financed and sold locally. With as bad a reputation that many used vehicle dealers have, in general, I find most are as honest as most private sellers. To sell a rig it needs to show well, cleaned and as advertised, lots of photos available and priced fairly. - BarneySExplorer III

OP: What do you have? Perhaps someone here would be interested.
If he posts that information the thread will have to be deleted due to the forum "no for sale posts" rule.

- frankdampExplorerWe saw the one we bought in the want-ads section of our local weekly newspaper. It was about 30 miles away. We went to see it and bought it. The seller said he'd had six other people before us, one of whom, a partially disabled WW2 veteran 85 years old, wanted to buy it.
When we sold it, we went to a consignment dealer - a very bad decision.
