We camp at Montauk outter beach all summer. I have a big blue tote, and it is a beast to pull through the sand from the drain to the front of the trailer. The wheels do nothing in the sand of LI. Here is what I've found works well.
Leave the tote at the front of the camper. By a cap for your sewage pipe that has a garden hose attachment. Run a hose from the drain, downhill to your tote. Fill it up. Its way easier to hook the tote to your hitch when you only have to go 5' vs 25'! Also, you'll find that if you are backed into a dune, the tote on the ground next to drain, Will be almost as high as your drain. You'll have to do some digging.
Ever camp at MTK? Its on the reservation system now. Not sure how I feel about that. We've always enjoyed last minute trips to Montauk.
