Best Wheel Chocks

So today while trying to get our new fifth wheel ready and loading up our gear into the new trailer, I noticed that the gap between the wheels was considerably wider than our old trailer. I took out our rotochocks and verified that indeed they were not wide enough to fit between the wheels. (i guess that's another item that I'm going to give to the new owners of our old trailer). While looking in to purchase a new set of rotochocks, I discovered that I couldn't find them online anywhere. In fact, they don't even appear when entering the name in the search engine. The closest thing i have found, is the BAL wheel stabilizer. Just wondering what the best chock is out there on the market or what most people are using? Sad to see rotochock go away, I really liked them and were easy to use.

I had the same scenario. I screwed 1" thick ABS plastic strips onto my old RotoChoks to increase the length of the blocks. They have worked perfectly now going on their sixth season. PM me if you want pictures.

Best is what are brains perceive, whether anyone else has the same perception or not. Never used rotochoks, although our BAL between the wheel chocks have never failed to perform their intended job 13 years running. Not sure if their are the best but they're readily available in different sizes online and at Camping Worlds.

I sure miss RotoChoks. I wish they'd sell their designs and someone else would pick up their brand.

We've had good luck with the BAL X-Chock, but we don't put too much weight on them since our six point jacks carry most of the burden when we're parked.

Get rubber, they won't slide on concrete or asphalt like the plastic ones do.

When I had my 5th Wheel I used the B&L chocks that go between the wheels. I never had a problem with them.

That is the size that I currently have, and they turned out to be too narrow for the new trailer 😞

Got some decent HD chocks at Harbour Freight. Tossed the plastic junk.

What size RotoChoks do you need? I have some that no longer fit my new trailer. PM me if you're interested.

I also have a set of chocks from Harbor Freight, the rubber ones, and they work very well when I don't wish to use the RotoChoks.

I use a big rock at home.. No, really... It's wedge shaped, big, heavy.. I pull it out of the way, and I use it as a guide when I'm backing the trailer in when I park it. I know to keep about 2' away from it and I know I'm good.

Roll it into place and set it with my foot.. 🙂

On the road, I just use some home made 4x4 wedges and a rotochock setup.. Since yours does not fit anymore, maybe rig up some sort of spacer for it between the wheels?

Good luck! Mitch
