Browsing through ebay I came across "Brand New Honda EU2000i Inverter Generator Combo Package kit." from "pocketrocketparts" for a price of $1650.55. It sounds like a good deal. If you read the fine print though, it says it comes with everything but the generators!! Better hurry, those parallel cables selling for $1650.55 might go fast. I sent a question to the seller and asked what exactly he was selling and he replied "everything in the picture except the generators. I also reported it to eBay but the listing is still active. I did submit a "Best Offer" of $16.50 but he declined. BE CAREFULL!!

I've not found eBay prices that great, and in a lot of cases, higher than what I can find elsewhere. I will shop there if I can't find something anywhere else, but it isn't my first point I go. I prefer local stores, and Amazon.

Good news for those looking for an expesive set of cables. He has listed two more of them, only this time the price is ONLY $500.00

And if you don't think he is a scammer, I some beachfront property in Arizona you may be interested in. :B

Amazon is the highest price on a lot of things. If you're depending on Amazon for the best price you'll be disappointed when you shop around.

Craigslist is wonderful, you just need to be careful. Ebay has its uses but also need to be very careful.

I was looking for a cable for a rig with a 50 amp hook-up and a 30amp male plug so I wouldn't have to fool with the 50amp cord when I knew I wasn't going to need the amps. I found it on ebay for 3 times the camping world price. Who would've thought??

According to the site, he sold two of them. Would be interesting to be able to contact those buyers and see what they paid and actually received.
b***k ( 29Feedback score is 10 to 49) is one of them who purchased at "buy it now" price yesterday, and another bidder who purchased at some other bid price on December 14th.

I suspect both of those bidders are going to be in for a rough surprise in a few days when their purchase is delivered.

$165 is too much..#1650 is ridiculous

he corrected in BOLD to indicate cables only
why did he NOT correct the price ?

and yes people make mistakes

and i hope he is honest and corrects everything

Well, it is not corrected because the ad went off 7 hrs ago. You with all respect, answer none of my concerns. As to your statement it must be a scam. And ignore those aspects, of my post that point to it not being a scam

He had 7 days to correct the price and didn't..why in "Item specifics" would he have filed in all the info on the generator when the generator was not part of the deal? This was a scam, just admit it

Well, we will never know for sure. But one thing I would not argue is, he is not the brightest crayon in the box. And although I am not convinced he is a scammer. He is not someone I would feel at ease buying from

Oh come on... Definitely a scam. He copied this other guy's Ad (including the picture) and just added the generators not included part in the worded description. The item specifics is totally about the generators!

Even if not an outright scam attempt, the seller admits to being careless, and has had (2) ebay accounts. One can only presume that there is some intersting negative feedback or other "problems" with the first account.

The prices are ridiculously high for the item offered,
But low for the item the buyer thinks he is getting
Just because it is worded legally,
doesn't mean it isn't creative deception and morally wrong

The intent of the seller is to induce you to buy something way over priced, by creating the visual impression of something else
And leave no hard legal recourse, because the truth was in the adv wording

With respect, I ask this. If the price listed was $65.00, Would you consider this to be a scam? It appears the item is worth about $60.00.

This, E-bay person appears to be a small guy, both a buyer and seller with many positive reviews.

Is it possible he/she just listed the price in error?

What proof do you offer that he/she has ever scammed anyone?.

The OP states he offered 16.50, and that was declined. He does not state however, that he said anything to the seller about the 1650. or gave him a chance to correct it. All he says is he offered 16.50 and it was declined.

And the OP further the states he asked the seller, what he was selling, and the e-bay seller states "everything in the picture, but the generators"

Do any members here have any proof this person has ever scammed anybody?

Could he be a scammer, sure, I agree. but I doubt it. What I object to is,you have no more proof he is a scammer, than, that he just made a simple error, on the price.
