Big Tow Bar With Small Tow Car

Hi all, I'm new to RVing and this forum. I purchased a used 27.5'
Class C about a month ago and now trying to get fixed up with a Tow Vehicle. The person that I purchased the RV from also has a Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 Offroad tow bar, rated for 10,000 lbs., for sale for over half of what a new one is. I am looking at a 2,400 lb. tow vehicle.

My Question: Are the H.D. tow bars the same "hook up" to the car's bracket as a lighter tow bar or do I need a lighter tow bar. Also any other suggestions that you can offer this "Newbie" would be appreciated. Thanks,
Mudpuppy

No problem. Doesn't matter if it's rater for higher. Buy the one from the owner you bought the MH from!

At least you know who he is and that he was using it and took care of it. IMHO better bet than from someone you don't know off the internet.

Yes they hook up the same way and should not matter. Is it the type tow bar that goes into the receiver of the MH or the type that folds back and stays on the toad? Have had both and I like the ones that goes into the receiver and stays on the MH when disconnected. You can usually find lots of tow bars on craigslist for low prices. Dick
