Blue Ox AutoStop Brake vs NSA ReadyBrake

I have a 2014 Subaru Forester with a Blue Ox baseplate and I'm planning on towing it behind my Class C. I have narrowed my tow bars and braking system down to the ReadyBrake system by NSA products or the Blue Ox AutoStop BX8893 with the Blue Ox Alpha tow bar.

Any advice/suggestions? Thank you.

Ryan
  • I originally had the Blue Ox AutoStop but even a trip to Blue Ox in Pender, NE couldn't get it working right. I now have a Blue Ox Patriot. The integrated tow bar brake ReadyBrute Elite seems a better solution.
  • Thank you for the replies...I have read a lot of positive reviews on the ReadyBrake system by NSA so I should have been clearer in my initial question. I have not read as much about Blue Ox's AutoStop system, so was more interested in how that system compares. It is somewhat cheaper and I would be using a new Blue Ox Alpha tow bar with it. Also, I've had trouble sourcing the ReadyBrake Elite system - seem to be on backorder most places and I'm in a bit of a rush.

    Again, thanks for the replies.

  • I have a Ready Brute Elite towbar brake system. Works well. I have helped others setup the Ready Brake and Autostop. Both work well. But if you have a older towbar with looseness in the joints. They can be hard to setup because movement of towbar changes how the cable is pulled when toad is being pulled and stopped. I have seen over 1" movement in the joints on some older towbars.
  • We've used the ReadyBrute on our past three tows. Almost 100,000 trouble free miles....Dennis
  • We've been very pleased with our ReadyBrute Elite combined all-terrain tow bar and auxiliary brake system. Hooking up the brake system is a snap.
