brake system question

Here's a somewhat odd question..

My '93 DP has hydraulic brakes and the PO installed a Roadmaster Brakemaster many years ago; the toad end of the system is long gone. Assuming the compressor etc still works:

I'd prefer to not have the Brakemaster cylinder attached to the floor/seat and brake pedal. Is this the only thing that will work with the Roadmaster compressor and proportioning valve?

An M&G cylinder/booster can be installed in my toad (Tracker). This would in fact be the least expensive and most preferred solution if it'll work with the Roadmaster compressor.

And would an SMI Air Force One work with the Roadmaster compressor, or should I just not reinvent things and go with a Stay-In_play?

I'm out in West BFE and will probably be buying parts for a local mechanic to install. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
  • I wouldn't be sure the parts would be interchangeable. Most likely the compressor and brake actuating air cylinders are matched. Our Brakemaster 9060 doesn't have any way to control the pressure sent to the cylinder in the toad. Unless you know the pressure and volume of air needed to actuate the M&G cylinder (without locking up the brakes) I would stick with the plug and play system.

Before you make any decision I would be sure the compressor works and all the plumbing and wiring are intact. You can buy a complete "second vehicle kit" for your current braking system from e trailer for about $400.00

The kit includes everything you need to setup your toad.
  • Thanks Hikerdogs. I'll definitely make sure the compressor etc is working before proceeding.

I don't have the toad cylinder or anything downstream from the MH so it appears I'd need the complete 9100 or 9160.
