broken wire in battery compartment

Was cleaning the battery terminals ( I have 4 6v ) in the compartment and found a loose BLUE wire not attached to any thing, coming out of the wire loom, the wire had been attached to something as the end of the wire showed use. The length of the wire would allow it to attach to ether a pos or neg post on one of the batteries. There was no end on any battery that would show where it went, also checked all around on the frame and other areas where it could hook up.nothing, checked everything in the motor home, all work .. Its a 2007 Jayco Greyhawk on an 5500lb Kodiak chasis. got me stumped, called Jayco and they said to many different units and couldn't find just that one.........O K where to go next..Thanks
  • Since you know nothing about the wire the first thing would be to put a VOM on the end of the wire and to ground see if you have a voltage on the wire.

    Or continuity to frame ground.

Likely suspects for the loose end would be electric jack, breakaway brake system, stabilizers, accessory lighting.
  • Tape it off until you find something does not operate.
Or trace it out. Probably connects to the positive.
Any voltage on the wire? In the daytime? Plugged in?

    Exactly!
If everything works properly, tape it off and go have a beer
