Bumper Mount BBQ's?

My parents have the camper mounted RVQ and I like it. We've only used it one season but it cooks great. The only downside is you really can't put anything on the top grate AND close the lid. Silly.

My brother's birthday is coming up and my sister-in-law asked for help in getting a BBQ for my brother. He has the Coleman Roadtrip one that neither him nor I particularly care for.

My sister-in-law wants to get the RVQ for my brother to mount on the bumper. I told her to wait.

I have the Weber 100 at home that I love. It's definitely built a lot better then the RVQ and will probably last longer and cook better too.

So, is there a way to mount the Weber on the camper bumper? Any idea how much it would cost to mod the Weber to work with the camper gas line?

OK, I seem to have 3 options that jump out at me.

1) My dealer can sell me the sidekick grill and bumper mount for about $215. I'd have to remove the grill from the bumper in transit. My dad has a sidekick on his camper and I like it. It's only been one season but I think it cooks good. I was surprised.

2) Get a Weber 100 with the cart for about $200.

3) Get a Weber 220 with a cart for about $250.


I'm leaning towards option 3. First and foremost, it's a Weber. The 220 is larger then the 100 and it also has a shelf on each side of the grill. That is something that is lacking from my dad's sidekick. When I cook I don't know where to put the tongs when I'm not using them.

I don't have a bumper mount Bar-b-que but I do have a frame mounted one.
10,000 btu available on each of the three burners.




Nothing like being able to cook with two 12" dutch ovens at the same time while still being able to use the third burner.

Thanks, but those aren't viable options for us with the campgrounds we frequent most. We back up to a fence overlooking the beach so if you have the big window out the back of your camper it's awesome.

Not sure why you just don't get a stand for the weber or use it on a tabletop.

An idea that was presented was a table you could mount on the RV ladder for the BBQ. Out ladder is on the driver side and that's not a great spot when we BBQ because the cook would be separated from everyone.

I guess I'd need something along the lines of this.

Bumper or receiver hitch mount? Here is my solution to never cook on the ground grilling.







The grill is a marine Magma, all stainless parts. Gets used at least 100 times a season.

The receiver hitch method, not very clear, is simply a piece of wood with a hole in it that slides into the receiver.

I recently bought a small LP tank & adapter to eliminate the constant use of screw on tubes. One season worth of use will pay for it.

If you have a ladder on your rv, there are some tables that will mount on the ladder so you dont have to mount it on your bumper

You've got about an 8' concrete patio next to the camper and then about 20' until the next camper.

We like the grill towards the back of the camper, but the ladder is out of the question because then the cook is completely separated from everyone else. The grill can't go by the propane tanks because then we take up precious play/open space. I also don't want to run a 30' propane line towards the back either, that's why I want to use the quick connect at the back of the camper.
