Worse comes to worse you can always find a dip in the pavement, slight hill, small ditch to lessen the slope. Unless you got one of those mile-high 4-wheel drive macho trucks of course. :)
actually I and some others have found it quite easy to power the bike up walking beside it. Now this is on a dirt bike weighing in at between 200 and 250 lbs. A street bike, well not so sure.
