We are towing a 2016 Chevy Equinox. We have not experienced any death wobble yet. I know I’m a little slow, but something just hit me. With the key off, does the steering wheel have any control over the front wheels? If so, it really isn’t electric steering. Any ideas?

Yes, the SW is still rigidly connected to the wheels. It;s just the assist that is inop. Just like a traditional car when the eng shuts down and the assist goes away.
