Chevy S10 2003

I'm looking for a good dingy vehicle to tow behind my V10 HR motorhome. I've found a reasonably priced 2003 Chevy S10. 5 speed stick shift with only 27000 miles. After looking at the dingy guide which I paid 1.99 for. Chevy S10 is not listed. I assumed, incorrectly I guess, that a stick shift rear wheel drive vehicle could be towed. Is anyone else towing one? I'd like a little feedback before I commit to buying it. Thanks, Dave
  • You can get a drive shaft disconect from one of the towing vendors. Once it is installed you just pull a lever and the drive shaft does turn the transmission. Just an FYI most manual Front Drive cars are tow-able not rears.
  • Welcome to the forum.
Does the S10 have an owners manual? It should tell you in the manual.
    Also, check Remco Towing.
  • I did not know Remco got of of the drive shaft coupling business. Below is from their web site. They use the word MAY need ... I have only towed ours short distances and we just towed in neutral. Some require to start the engine every 300-500 miles when towing flat.

    Notes

This vehicle may need a drive shaft to be towed with all four wheels on the ground. Remco Industries no longer sells the Drive Shaft Coupling (Disconnect). If interested in a Drive Shaft Coupling, please contact Southwest Drivelines (http://www.swdriveline.com) or David at Drive Shaft King (800-442-6329).
  • I used to own a 2001 S-10. The EXTENDED CAB is not towable 4-down....double drive shaft. The "standard" cab is.
