Clear Bra for toad

Hello everyone,

I am waiting delivery of a new 2014 Jeep Cherokee to be used as our toad. I would appreciate some input on a clear bra on the Cherokee. Does anyone recommend one? Would it help prevent the toad from getting beaten up behind the coach. I will be installing the roadmaster tow defender and looking into the roadmaster guardian.

If you have a clear bra have you been happy with it or wish you did not buy it? For those of you who do not have a bra what does your toad look like? Has it sustained much paint damage?

Thanks in advance for your advice,

Stuart

I have it on our '11 CRV and it seems to work just fineโ€ฆOf course I have already replaced the front window from a bad rock hit, but not when we were towing. I got the product that goes about 1/3 of the way up the hood. Previously had a Saturn with a full coverage(including window) towing bra, and a Forester with a semi fixed bra. The Saturn rig was most protective but somewhat of a PITA, the Forester bra covered less than my current film bra and did mess a little with the car finish. FWIW from wet Reno

Never seen that happen before and I'm around this product daily, we install for many car dealers and it's on all my vehicles. I find what your claiming very hard to believe. The person you speak of with the scratches may have had a bad prep job and the paint may have gotten scratched during the cleaning process. Once the product is on, it's on and it will not scratch the paint. Make sure you use a top-coat / clear-coated product.

I am "assuming" that a clear bra is a fabric (clear) vinyl like strap on, some of which now have air foils on the back edge to keep them down and hopefully to prevent some of the vibration which can lead to scratching. I don't understand your top coat/clear coat as it relates to the bra?

I have a clear bra on my wife's 2010 Honda that we bought new and to this day not a one rock chip on the front with 64,000 miles on it. That's open road not a toad.
