Fred.
From the MW dictionary:
a. A motorbus.
b. A railroad passenger car.
c. A closed automobile, usually with two doors.
d. A large, closed, four-wheeled carriage with an elevated exterior seat for the driver; a stagecoach.
2. An economical class of passenger accommodations on a commercial airplane or a train. - camper19709Explorerhummmmm
I see no problem calling the motorhome that I live in a coach. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIIt's pretentious, but at least when they call it a coach you can figure it's a motorized RV and not a trailer.

You can call it whatever you want. Call it Wanda. It's still an RV whether it's 5K or 1M!

Maybe you should call up Coachmen RV and explain it to them... :R
On edit: Explain it to the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) as well, along with the numerous manufacturers that use "coach" in their brand or model names.
And by the way the NHTSA classifies my motorhome as a "Multipurpose Passenger Vehicle", and it does have two doors, so it appears the MW definition "c" could apply. - LaurenExplorerHay, I have accessory dealers, repair shops and the like call my 5th wheel a coach. Go figger. At least they cannot call it a motorhome.

Way back in the 1920's and 30's, the term "trailer coach" was commonly used, including by upstarts like a little company named "Airstream". :B - dan-nickieExplorer

Seriously? It's an RV!
You know exactly what we mean when we call our rig a Coach.
I've never had to explain it.
It's not a trailer. It's not a fifth wheel. It's a large class A motorhome. - westendExplorerI guess Merriam and Webster don't know what a sports team leader is?
- navegatorExplorerI live in a 22 foot "C O A C H" men motor home, granted it is a class C but it has my bed, my bathroom, my galley, my cabin-lounge an mess-hall and even has an upper level.
I live in a COACH!
