Garden of the Gods campground should be fine. The area near it burned last year when we were scheduled to be at a rally there. This years fires are burning new ground elsewhere.

Last year we moved the rally 15 miles north while people were on the road headed to the rally. Managed to contact everyone by email or phone and get them directed to the new location.

Have a good trip and a great time in Colorado Springs. The G of G people were very cooperative with our group and the situation. They deserve the patronage.

The photo is in Yosemite. We have no control over that logo. Their database is broken. I have not been a member for over 4 years.

My sister lives there. She lives ONE street over from where the evacuation area was. If they had expanded it one more time she would have had to leave.

On to the answer, most of her friends that were bunking at her house because they had to evacuate theirs have been able to go back home.

That said, I would call the CG on the telephone and ask them. In my experience, when Mother Nature visits, the CG operators are honest about the situation.

Colorado Springs is alive and well. September is great here.

I was thinking the same thing as above. The weather has been crazy around here for the last few years. I will bet that you will see 90* when you head this way in September.

I live in the Springs and had to evac for the Black Forest Fire last week...I wouldn't be worried about fires in September. The weather patterns that exacerbate the fire conditions (high temps, high winds in erratic directions, and very low humidity) probably will have passed by then. Obviously anything is possible but I certainly wouldn't change my September plans because of it.
