Grand Canyon Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Seasonal Sales Associate for stores located in Grand Canyon National Park.
Position Availability Dates: Immediate through October, 2013
Starting Wage: $8.50 per hour
RV site available: $50/month + electric and LP
POSITION OVERVIEW
Sales Associates perform outstanding customer service duties to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve sales goals. Retail outlets are open seven days a week, including holidays, and hours vary from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. This position is supervised by the Store Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties vary with the workload, and could include, but are not limited to, the tasks listed below.
•Act as an ambassador for Grand Canyon and Grand Canyon Association: proactively greet visitors, answer questions, and provide information about GCA and Grand Canyon
•Assist visitors with product selection and purchase
•Process customer transactions, including cash and credit card sales
•Promote and sell GCA memberships and request dollar donations from all customers
•Ensure store shelves are fully stocked and merchandised according to store specifications
•Maintain and clean and orderly sales floor and storage area
•Reconcile daily cash drawer
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Demonstrated high level customer service and sales abilities
•Working knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, computerized cash register operations
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and exercise good judgment
•Ability to effectively interact with others; demonstrate enthusiasm; maintain a positive attitude
•Passion for the mission of GCA and Grand Canyon National Park
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•Standing for long periods of time, up to ten hours each day
•Frequent, extended periods of repetitive hand motion required by operation of cash register
•Occasional lifting of product boxes up to 20 pounds
•The work is indoors at elevations in excess of 7,000 feet above sea level.
