- FunnyCamperExplorer IISo sad, sending prayers to his family!
- noe-placeExplorerThis past June I was cleaning the gutters on my daughter's house and the ladder slipped pinning my left pinkie between the ladder and the brick wall. The flesh at the end of the pinkie was cut completely in half and took 12 stitches to put back together. Because it was so severely cut I had to pass on several things I do routinely. My clumsiness cost me an entire summer of fun activities simply because of a cut finger.
- Dennis_M_MExplorerUnfortunately we all tend to over estimate our abilities as we grow older. I'm in my 7th decade and I try to stay off ladders, but I still occasionally find it necessary - when I do climb I am VERY careful.
We are volunteer millers at a 140 year old windmill and the rule when climbing anything is "One hand for you, one hand for the mill!" - nomad297Explorer

Are you looking for a good deal?
Bruce - NJRVerExplorerSad story.
I wonder what RV the founder of CW, owned? - ventrmanExplorerR.I.P. Dave. My Condloences to the Family.
- Bamaman11ExplorerI did the same thing 5 years ago--cleaning gutters. I was fortunate to only have broken two legs. The local hospital the same day had a number of men that'd fallen, some of which had broken limbs and backs.
This is just such an unfortunate accident. - coolbreeze01ExplorerToo many fall off roofs, ladders, etc. be it RV or at home. RIP Mr. Garvin.

First my condolences to the Family and second, I think Dave may have been like a lot of us, he was just doing what he had always done.
Sometimes we get a wakeup call sometimes folks have to be hit with a hammer. I'm one of those. Even reading about Dave, I still think I'm 17, DW knows better and says so.
RIP Dave
X2! I'm 70 years young, and year before last, I installed a crank-up Winegard on my MoHo in August in Palmdale, CA (the High Desert).
I could have well afforded to have it done, but wanted it right. It was 101-degrees that day, and I had to use shop towels under my knees. The Dicor set up really quickly, though.
Lots of us just have to do it ourselves.........
Enjoy your well-earned rest, Mr. Garvin. I hope you didn't suffer. - Bob_VaughnExplorerWe stayed in the camping world camp ground back when he charged 10 cents a night.....Of course that was a bargain because most other campgrounds were 3.00 a night.....
