I recently started to think about getting a new brake control but wanted to get some feedback from anyone that has moved from the original Prodigy to a new one.
My original Prodigy from 2003 certainly seems to be working properly and has never given me any issues but Tekonsha now has the Prodigy 3 available. Other than being compatible with electric/hydraulic systems, is there anything that might make it work better, all else being equal?
I usually follow "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality but if I can improve things then its worth it.
Thanks!

Great! Thanks for the feedback. The original one only gives brake volts so the P3 with additional information would come in handy. I could have used the amp display on my last trip.

The main thing I like about the P3 over the older P2 is the current reading.
Before each trip I check the voltage output with the manual slider and the current output.
With my setup I get about 7 volts with the slider and 7.1 amps.
From that I know all 4 brake magnets are working. If there was an open wire on any magnet it would show in the current reading.
Most 4 wheel trailers draw about 1 amp per volt applied.
The P3 also gives battery voltage.

I had an original Prodigy and went to a P3 a few years ago. I think it may work a tick better than the original and has a few more settings to tinker with. I never regretted it
