how much more is diesel fuel in Canada? percentage will work

One Canadian told me that there is no price fixing - it's just that all prices are the same! :S

I found that to be very true within a given area. In northern areas like the Alaskan Highway prices can be very high especially in areas between the cities. Approaching the US 48 border prices dropped apparently because some would cross the border to buy fuel.

Just like the US prices are demand dependent.

Each province has its own retail policy for different fuels, utilities......... Some just toss in a provincial sales tax, others do more and if regulated all examine several sources of cost and price figures from different parts of the world, not just Canada.

Use the Gas Buddy phone app or website to check prices in your general destination or along your route. From Ontario east, prices will be pretty much in the middle ground, with Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba being the exception, and they're usually lower than the rest. BC will usually be the highest price for gas and diesel.
Across the river in Port Huron, MI the prices currently range from US$2.79 to US$3.09 per gallon. In Ontario here the current price is US$3.55/gallon. It will be a bit lower in the Canadian prairies, and a lot higher in British Columbia.

Wow, here in coastal Oregon it is just below $3.00 a gallon.

We paid between 2.95 and 3.10 in Oregon. California is expensive.

It depends on which state or province you are in. It's more expensive in So Cal than in BC. I just paid 3.69 a gallon cash in So Cal, which works out to 1.21 a litre CAD. When I filled up at home in Abbotsford before crossing the border four days ago, I paid 1.16 CAD a litre, cash or credit.

& if you search www.google.ca then you can search 'name of province and utility prices or fuel regulation. Each province in Atlantic Canada has its own regulated prices. Some change weekly,.....

Remember most transport trucks use diesel so highways will have diesel pumps.

Each Province is different depending on their taxes and how far it has to be hauled from a refinery - just like the States.

Remember to factor in the currency exchange rates.
