Different approach to a new roof

This pulled into the State park today where we are at. I'm assuming it's on a permanent site somewhere and decided to take it camping. One thing is for certain his gutters will work better than mine.

  • I can't get past the exposed-bolt flares on the rear of the truck and hidden ones on the front..... LOL
  • That would probably require a WIDE LOAD certificate.

On my "dream" DIY TT build, I would have a 2"-4" overhang with a custom made drip edge/flashin that directs runoff on to the face of the siding. Not sure about actual gutters (likely overflow and would require regular cleaning), but a reasonably pitched/barrel roof with fiberglass or aluminum. No rubber roof. Epoxy resin does not like UV, so paint is required.
  • I wonder how wide that is? It would probably need an oversize permit to be legal to tow down the road, assuming the roof doesn't fold up somehow for transport.

For use at a single fixed location, I kind of like the idea.
