Dinghy towing a 2017 Ford Focus SE Hybrid
Just got this car and trying to get it ready to tow behind my motor home. The instructions from Ford are so vague, that I am afraid to drive off and do major damage to my transmission. This is what I think the correct procedure is:
The parking brake has to be off. Press the start button without stepping on to the brake.
A green blinking light will show on the start button and the accessories are on. Now step on the brake and dial the transmission knob to N. Keep holding the foot on the brake and press the L button located in the center of the transmission radio dial. The amber light at this dial will go from a constant to a very slow blinking light. On the dash it will read that the transmission is now in Neutral. Now press the start button again without the foot on the brake and the ignition will turn off. The slow blinking transmission light keeps blinking. The car should be ready to be towed.
This is the procedure I came up with, but I am not sure. I hate to find out the hard way if I did something wrong. Hopefully somebody knows exactly what to do.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
