Do you subscribe to satellite radio? Favorite programs?

I use a portable satellite unit everywhere I spend any length of time in one place. Work or behind the wheel of the TV or longer camping trips, it's what I use for music. I don't care much for over the air radio anymore. Not into sports or much into talk radio, but make an exception for some Prairie Home Companion and other NPR stuff. Music is most anything, but mostly channels 56 through 61....My wife was a pure city girl 25 years ago, now even she likes Willie and Bluegrass.

Edit: Wife and I commute to work together and have very often enjoyed the Harry Nile stories as short story start to the day.

Wow, thanks for the responses, keep them coming. You've given me (and others no doubt) ideas of channels to try.

I love Johnny Dollar too, also The Hermit and The Whistler and Candy Matson, the female San Francisco sleuth from the 40s and 50s. There's another show called Broadway is my Beat -- a city crime show -- quite entertaining.

I notice the host of the Radio Classics network, Greg Bell, is hosting a special Caribbean cruise for fans -- live stage productions of radio shows, etc. -- never been on a cruise but it sounds fun.

That is exactly why I cancelled. They gave me a promo rate then it was going to triple after that. I found that I only listened to two or three stations and most of the time never changed it from the highway. Would be awesome if you could just choose like a dozen channels for $10/month

$10 a month does cover the "Mostly Music" plan. That gives me everything I want.

You do realize that SiriusXM does have an A-La-Carte option for 7.99 a month. You can choose up to 50 channels of your choice. There are restrictions; certain channels are not part of the plan, and you do have to have an A-La-Carte player. I used it for a while, but found I could get a better monthly rate over time on the premium package if I negotiate.

Stern, MSNBC, CNN, a few others.

Edit: Oh, and Foxnews. Like a little Martha MacCallum to start my day.

A la carte doesn't work and won't work. On both tv and radio the less expensive stations supplement the more expensive ones and spread the cost.

People like me that never listen to Howard Stern are helping to pay his salary.
