Saw that too !
How about these so called dog friendly places !
People keep their innocent , loving,, won't bite nor never bit a person in their wholllleee life on a leash and under control on the specified designated trails !!
WE both like animals ,have owned several pets in the past. So before anyone goes off on that rant...
My DW's father was a CHP canine officer , the dog attacked my DW when she was little, has scarred her for life.
Yet there are those inconsiderate world evolves around them dog owners that think the rules don't apply to them.
They let their dogs off the leash to run wild , water everything in site along with dropping a log cabin here and there. With out a second thought of actually picking up after them.
When we are coming up on them we stop and I politely ask for them to leash their dog.
And here comes that BS quote "oh he won't bite a soul , he's just a lovably blah blah blah".
I then go into protection mode of my DW and now tell them to leash their dog. That usually does it with a heavy sigh and mumbling under their breath !
Yep once back on the leash have had a few with the retractable 20ft leash let the dog run the line out.
I have started walking with a Cain/large walking stick. I'll say "ok batter up" and ready to swing away at the approaching dog , that gets their attention real quick.
Not sure which is worse , inconsiderate people with dogs off the leash/long leash under control or the ones that leave the dogs in the RV at the campsite and take off in their toad for the day and let everyone else at the CG to now enjoy the non stop barking of their "beloved pet"
So yeah I enjoy your pet off the leash running around and or your pet non stop barking about as much as you would enjoy a baby crying non stop in a movie theater that you just paid a small fortune to see the movie, but can't enjoy it...
Are you taking to me?!?!?
My dog is NEVER OFF LEASH!!!
I don’t like the risk of what you mentioned & always have poop bags in my pocket & im very mad about how those you spoke of have ruined it for the responsibil ones of us.
I’ve been showing dog for years & know etiquette, do NOT EXPECT in anyway at all to let him off leash!
A great example of what your talking about happened to me while camping at Moro beach in Ca. When a women that had her dog off leash ( golden retriever ) came running up to me with my leashed dog and her dog jumps on me while I’m trying to keep my dog safe from what her dog might do to us & I was knocked down into the surf!
I get up soaking wet & yell get you fucking dog off me! & control you dog **** it!
& she gave me the dirtiest look as if I was the bad guy?!?!
Not even an I’m sorry, just a dirty look.
