After spending a couple of weeks in OR, we were heading to Vernon BC to attend a family memorial and over-nighted in Oliver, BC near the Can/US border. We knew there was a fire near our planned route...

From what I understand, the fire got really bad a few days ago and there was another nearby wildfire they were battling. They did a controlled burn to join the two fires together so they could get it all under better control sooner, which they did. Roads are fully open again and I think all evacuation orders have now been lifted.
The wildfire season still has a long way to go and anything can happen anywhere at any time.
