Dump stations in Calgary - any open?

This is directed at the local Calgary folks:

Anyone know if there are any dump stations open in the Calgary area?

I am finishing up a project in Airdrie where I have been set up in the customers driveway for over 2 weeks. I will finish tomorrow and pull out for my next project in the southwest part of Calgary. I need to dump on the way.

Yeah I know I could start making phone calls and checking around, but I thought maybe asking the locals here might be an idea.

I'll be coming in on #2. Deerfoot shouldn't be too bad on a Saturday afternoon. Could bypass on Stoney.

I know there is a Husky truck stop at Barlow and 32nd - I think they have a dump station, not sure. But I don't know if various places close the dump sites during freezing weather.

Can't believe I have gone 2 1/2 weeks without dumping my grey. But I have been VERY diligent about my water use. 1 1/2 tanks of fresh water gone but the grey is still not coming up the shower drain! It's gotta be close!
Nothing like washing dishes with a cup of water!

Any thoughts?

Well, just got into Calgary a couple hours ago.

Flying J it was. I pulled in to the lot and wow! The place is huge! Semi trucks everywhere.

I drove around it until I found the dump site, then pulled up to the nearest door and walked in to pay. Nobody in sight, nobody in the office. Hmmmm. So I pulled away and parked beside a row of trucks, had a much needed shower and washed my dishes. Not worried about the water now!

1 3/4 fresh water tanks used and the grey is still not coming up the shower. Opened the thingy and peeked down the toilet and the black was full to within about 1/2 inch of the pipe that goes into the tank. I have been dumping some of my kitchen water down there.

I backed into the place and used the dump. Water was shut off but thats ok, the grey rinsed the hose anyways.

So then I pull back up to the door and go in to pay. Again, nobody in the office, nobody in sight. I hung around for a bit and no-one came in. So I left without paying. Hmmmm. Not sure what that was about.

Next time I drive by I'll stop in again to see if I can pay. But I'm not going to lose any sleep over it!

Thanks for the help everyone. ๐Ÿ™‚

If this doesn't come in too late to do you any good, check with the municipal sewage plants along your route. Some here in the 'States will allow an RV to dump for free or a small fee. I was directed to the incoming sewage pool at a couple of places.

If you have a Flying J card, it is only $5.00 to dump.

There's a dump station behind the trailer park in Airdrie, not sure if it's open or not, water would be shut off I would think but you might be able to dump.

Hi Bob,

I found out from this site:

Sanidump Calgary

The Shell I suggested is also closed--as is the campground.

Thats a great list Don!

The Flying J mentioned says it is open year round but you may need an ice chipper to get the lid open - LOL!

Never paid ten bucks to dump before but today it will be worth every penny of it!

There are several rv dealers on the south side of Airdrie as well as a couple at Balzac. They may have or know of any available. Here in Drumheller, both the Co-op and Canadian Tire stores have dump stations but, of course, the fresh water flushes would be turned off now. That will be the situation anywhere you go now, but the sewer would be open.

I have a Blog..about stuff, some of which is RV'ing.

Don I phoned that Shell on 16th. I'm still shaking my head! LOL!
The guy who answered the phone did not know what a dump station was. In fact, he didn't even know what an RV was! haha! He was from a different country. I guess maybe they don't have RV's in .......
