They give off the same amount of heat as any other 1500watt space heater.

Our Montana 5er fireplace will warm up the living room in short order. One issue I've heard about is the wall plug for the fireplace can overheat and cause problems.

Your furnace is 12 volt from the battery(s)and won't affect the elec fireplace. When you were at the campground was the trailer plugged in?

They put out a lot of heat. I keep mine on low and it will heat the whole mh. Plus it looks cool.

When we fired it up at the dealership, the RV toasted up real quick! The salesman said that a lot of campgrounds do not like them (shhhhh) because they suck up that much more electric.

Well think of a teeter Totter, perfectly balanced so the board lies flat if no kids using.

Now take off one of the 50 pounders (leave the other on) and drop a 100 pounder school yard bully on that end, WHAM that end hits the ground.

The Teeter-Totter is the GFCI

The two kids are the black and white wires.

The "Weight" is the amps (or rather millaAmps (mA) flowing in the wires.

If the end of the totter-teeters it shuts off. That simple.
