- mowermechExplorerI think flat towing it would risk transmission damage, but I don't know for sure.
If you can get an Owners Manual, look under "Recreational towing" and it should tell you.
the Owners Manual is the only reliable source of information, IMO. - robatthelakeExplorerWe towed Ours for well over 150,000 Km with absolutely Zero Problems! Ours was a 1992 Series 2 .
It had the 5 Speed Manual Transmission TWO Wheel Drive.
Roadmaster Stowmaster Tow Bar and Base Plates.
I repeat Zero Problems! Put it in Neutral, turn Key to unlock Steering Wheel and Tow away!
The Owners Manual was Not useful at all !
I had a qualified Mechanic take a look at the Unit when I first bought it as I had my doubts ! He said good to go and was correct! - navegatorExplorerThe Tracker is a Suzuki Gran Vitara, with a Chevrolet emblem and yes you can tow in four down, make shure that the shifter is in neutral, turn the key to the first position to unlock the steering wheel, and the hand brake off and youre good to go.
The manual recomends to stop verey 200 miles and start the engine ETC, that is for the automatic transmition to lubricate the seals and rings etc.
