Florida Hurricane I'm in the path

Well my first hurricane.
I am right on the edge of the evacuation area of Cedar Key.

Just bought a winter home in Florida. It needed a roof badly and I was proactive going into contract with a roofer. Only thing is he stiffed me on the start date. So here I sit with a roof that is till in need to be replaced in the middle of a hurricane. Praying it will stay on in 75 mile an hour plus winds.:(

Being a Northerner I always said the Floridians had it made. They get weeks of prior notice of a pending hurricane and pretty good prediction of exactly when it will hit. Plenty of time to prepare and/or leave.

Compared to us when a F5 Tornado hits we got maybe 10 minutes notice and more often than not zero notice.

Well as I sit here 'waiting' for the pending doom. I've changed my mind how well off the Floridans have it. The anxiety level of just sitting and waiting for it to hit is unbearable.

Prayers go out to all my fellow Floridians in the path of hurricane Hermine. Hope everyone stays safe. :C
