Ford C-Max Charge Wire

We have a Ford C-Max that we are getting ready to flat tow. We had the base-plate installed for us and they ran a wire from the car battery out the front for us to attach to MH. We just noticed it's a single wire with no ground. We are wondering if this is to be expected or do we need to have a ground. Hopefully someone with a Hybrid knows.
