Frameless window leaking

Well its a warranty issue, but its going to rain all niht and storm tomorrow too. Who knows how long before they can get it in...

Anyhow it leaked during a storm our first trip out, but was a pretty hairy storm so i fiured rain was forced in. Tonight it rained, went for a look, and sure enough more water.

The seal at the top of the window, in 2 places doesnt make contact with the glass, and in another spot along the right hand side.

Would you seal it yourself with a caulking of some sort, or what for the time being? Id run a bead across the entire window, however id imagine, theyd end up making a window adjustment, and leave the mess behind permenantly.

I currently have a piece of plastice slid up into the gaps, in order to reduce the problem through tomorrow.

3M 471 comes up to 3โ€, and in some colorsโ€ฆ the problem is locating it quicklyโ€ฆ

Staples carries it at least in yellow, it is floor marking tape but they are big rolls and expensiveโ€ฆ

Myself I would still use duct tape and yes avoid decals with any of itโ€ฆ although I do like the press-n-seal idea that Chris Bryant suggested and might try it first if I were youโ€ฆ it its clean it should stick well and remove easilyโ€ฆ

i called the service dept. so i could get it in for the work.

A. they need to see it, which i fugured.
B. new window take 3 weeks to order
C. they recommended using vinyl tape, and not to cover decals.

i figure i'll need at least 1ยฝ tape, but do they make 3"? vinyl tape, isn't that electrical tape?

I used duct tape for mine when it leaked. It was an older non warranted model and you could not even notice the black duct tape since it blended right in. It was 6 months later I re sealed the window.

In my experience duct tape is easier to remove than the metal tape. Both will work for you though.

I have not tried it, but I have heard of people using that Glad press 'n seal plastic wrap. No residue.

i was considering that last night. i either have some stashed some place, or recently through it away. seems more forgiving than duct tape to me for some reason.

Outside the tape residue is easy to deal withโ€ฆ anyhow this is warranty but itโ€™s still your responsibility to minimize subsequent damage which Iโ€™m sure you want to do anywayโ€ฆ
