fresh water tank

I will be spending the winter in one spot and will have city water. Should I empty the fresh water tank or leave somemwater in it? Should I plan to sanitize in tje spring before I head north?
  • Always full........

Then if 'city water' has an issue......flip on pump
Then if cg supply has an issue.........flip on pump
Then if weird weather blows in, lines freeze, break etc.......flip on pump

I never NOT have water in my fresh water tank
  • Where are you spending the winter? If you are down south where freezing is not an issue then it shouldn't matter. If you don't use the water in the FW tank then it might make sense to drain it. Regardless of your choice come spring sanitizing the tank makes sense.
  • I would leave it either empty or full, not in between. Before you pull out drain, sanitize and fill.
  • Always a couple days worth in the tank in case of unexpected shutoffs of City Water

Personally, I would leave my FW tank full while I'm stationary, just in case city water is interrupted for some reason. I'd also probably sanitize my system before departure having the city water convenience right there.

Either way, I always leave some water in my FW tank, weather permitting, so the plastic tank doesn't dry out.
