Girard customers support not supportive

We bought a 2013 Monaco LaPalma 8 months ago. When we took possession we asked Lazydays to explain how our new Girard Tankless hot water worked. They suggested we blend hot and cold to adjust the temperature. Scalding water vs freezing cold was the result. We contacted Monaco who recommended we contact Girard. We have been back and forth with Girard for the entire time we have owned our motorhome.

Research and talking till we are blue in the face has gotten us NOWHERE. We have been told we will get replacement parts from Girard. They talk to us like they cannot believe we are having this problem. When the parts don't come we call back and they act like we have never spoken to them before and tell us they will call us back. When they don't call back we return the call and they say they need to have it manufactured in another country. The supposed part never arrived.

Now we hear that we can get an "upgrade" if we pay Girard $350 plus shipping and installation. When their first product does not function properly and safely why should RVers across the country with brand new RVs be charged for an upgrade for Girard's unusable hot water heater.

Is Good Sam have the ability to help us with this frustrating issue. Is the Consumer Product Safety Division of the government our only Solution????? Some please help. These folks are crooks. Don't buy anything with the name Girard on it until they can come through and support their products effectively.
  • I see a lot of similar complaints and comments from owners, good luck, I fear you will need it.
  • We just had a tank less natural gas water heater installed in our home. Works great so far. EZ to adjust. JMHO
  • If it were mine I would make an appointment at the factory and take it in before the warranty runs out. I was never turned down for any warranty repairs by Monaco. If you can't go to the factory have them send you to the nearest dealer for warranty repair.
