GLA 250 Dolly towing

Can anyone tell me if I can tow a GLA 250 with a dolly? IT is front wheel drive, I believe the steering column does not lock, however the emergency brake is automatic. Not sure if there is an over ride for this. Are there an fuses to be pulled (like Jeep Wranglers have) to keep from killing the battery, or that may even resolve the park problem. Thanks for any help.
  • I bought a 2019 gla250 FWD just so I could dolly tow it. Mercedes will just say no. My work around was to put the rear brakes in service mode and disengage service mode at my destination. Lots of youtube videos of how to put the brakes in service mode. I hope that works for you.

  • When he calls back, get the answers in writing. Or at least have him show you the corroborating entries in the official MB documentation, in the event he's not entirely correct, and you have any warranty claims as a result. Not trying to scare you, just saying.
  • Your Mercedes GLA 250 is front wheel drive? Should be dolly towable but the parking brake issue is a new one. Have you asked a Mercedes service technician?
  • It was a number of years ago I toad the Jeep, I also had the Blue Ox. Not sure if they had that system back then, or I just was not aware of it. I placed a battery disconnect, and pulled the main fuse, no big deal, and had not problems. But now, years later, new RV, new car, and trying to figure it out
  • I tow a 2016 Jeep Wrangler, and I don't pull any fuses. My Bluex Ox towing system charges the Jeep battery from the tow vehicle. Look in your toad owners manual to see what's required, as suggested.
  • What does the Owners Manual say about "Recreational Towing" or "Towing Behind a Motorhome"?
In nearly all cases, "The Book" is the final authority.
