- Dutch_12078Explorer IIIn our travels up and down the east coast, we've found PFJ's prices to be quite competitive with other nearby stations. Traveling a few miles further off the Interstates may find lower prices regardless of the brand. As long as the extra time and travel don't matter...
- MDKMDKExplorerThe nearest PFJ locations near me are rarely cheaper than other fuel stops and basic gas stations in the same area. It may be regional, as we've seen better prices farther south and west of Ontario/Michigan.

This must be a very regional thing.
I think it was almost universally true a couple of years ago but now it seems to have almost disappeared, at least in my first trip this year.
New ownership, maybe ?? - jkwilsonExplorer III

No more need for a separate Flying J/Pilot card. You can swipe your Good Sam card.

Unfortunately, I have often found that Flying J/Pilots are so much more expensive that even with the discount it's more than you might pay nearby at other truck stops/fuel locations. Sometimes they are competitive, sometimes not.
This must be a very regional thing. My experience is the opposite. There is a Pilot on the Virginia/NC border that I plan trips around because it is a little cheaper than anything else in VA and a lot cheaper than anything in NC - Sam_SpadeExplorer

When at the pump, first swipe your credit card. Then on the screen it will tell you to swipe your discount(Good Sam) card. After you swipe your Good Sam card the discounted price will now show up on the pump. That easy.
UNLESS.....you are at one of the "truck" diesel pumps in back.
In that case, I've heard that you have to go INSIDE to get the discount.
AND....if you have their credit card, I think the discount is a couple of cents more.....and no second card needed. - JKJavelinExplorer IIIWhen at the pump, first swipe your credit card.
