Replaced westlake 80R G rated tires with The Goodyears. The 5th seems a little more "firm" when towing, but have only towed it home from the tire shop. The westlakes were just on the high side of their carrying capacity , and had way more bulb than I liked to see. I hope these tires live up to the good things I have heard about them.

We just put on our second set on our Mobile Suites. We carry over 15K lbs. of weight on 6 tires.

I just replaced my Westlake tires with the same Goodyear tire you did. I'm looking forward to hitting the road with a little more confidence this summer. I would have no fear running Weslake tires on any trailer. In my research over many years, they have a great reputation and its not common to find a reported failures. There are far more (easy to find) reports of the G614's failing.I find it very odd you did not feel comfortable with Westlakes because you are nearing their capacity...whatever that means. 80%? 90%? Do you even know? And they have a larger "bulb" where the rubber hits the road, which means what exactly. Its more prone to fail if it has a certain size bulge? Good tires do not bulge at all? Those are very unprofessional and unwarranted perceptions, even for an internet forum.

The E rated Westlakes we had on our Work & Play were flawless for about 8000 miles in a year and half. Pressures were always 80 psi and the camper was stored out of the sunlight.

But its hard not to group all the E rated China made tires into a fail group. Towmax tires created that way of thinking. My torn up Cyclone will always be a memory. Its bad enough a tire tears up your camper but it also screws up a long awaited vacation. So we tend to go overboard.

I have Westlakes on both my landscape trailers. They were take-offs from fellow RVers. Not too hard to find them on craigslist if you keep an eye out. But my campers will always have G614s as long as I can afford them.

Google finds many g614 failures, not a lot recent. Judging by the hits I would say most of the suspect tires should have aged out by now.
I have 6 g614's on my trailer, and am VERY happy. High pressure on the highway, low pressure at Pismo, scrubbing in tight places. Never an issue, they loose less then 5 psi a year from 110 - cold.

I was going to put them on a utility trailer for around the place.Something I would not be depending on too much,or use one to start a brush pile burning.

I'll one up that...What would you give for 7 Westlake tires , spare with zero miles and rest with approx 500 miles on them....I'm no gambler...Thought about using them as planters, but hate for someone to be smelling a flower and the tire blows:B
