Got a great grill at BJ's Wholesale Club today

I was just about ready to buy the Master Forge at Lowe's that's $79 until I found this one at BJ's. It has 275 sq in cooking area, twin 10,000 BTU burners, all stainless steel with locking lid, and came with the hose and regulator for standard LP gas tanks. It was $99, but they sent me a coupon book with one that said $30 off ANY gas grill, so it came out to $69! Can't wait to try it out. It's called a Heritage twin burner portable gas grill.

Just because the burners are stainless does not mean that they will last. There are different grades of Stainless. The grade on my 6 year old BabyQ must be top quality because is still is in new condition as is the cast iron grate.

I had one of the Thermos gas grills about 10 years ago. Wouldn't get hot enough to cook here at 6500 ft. Gave it away and bought the Q a great grill. It stays in the rv. Get it home and hit it with the pressure washer and it's ready for the next trip. I wish it had 2 burners where you could cook with indirect heat but thats a minor inconvience. I haven't seen any thing I would replace it with.

I bought the Master Forge. It doesn't heat evenly but for just the two of us, I can work with it. I hated the folding legs, you cannot store it folded as it doesn't sit level so I drilled and screwed them so they don't fold. I cook on our plastic folding table as most of the campground I use prohibit cooking on their picnic tables. The grills legs are smooth and slide on the table making it a safety issue. I ended up adding rubber bumpers. I have since made a stand from an idea on this site. A lot of modifications just to cook some meat...

Menards had a table top Char-Broil charcoal grill on sale over Memorial Day week-end. It was $14.95 with a $10 rebate. End cost $4.95. Can't beat that !! It's almost a use once and throw away. ๐Ÿ™‚

Keep in mind mine stays stored and not out in the weather. I'm easy on my stuff. I think it will do fine.

I think the OP probably got a decent grill at a good price. If it lasts a few seasons it was definitely worth the money.

YOu have a point. But why take an OK grill with the idea I can use it for a few years and dump it vs. buying a good/great grill that will lat a long long time.
The OP is budget conscience and trying to save money, however the true way to save is to buy a good grill that won't need to be replaced.
Several mentioned wasting money on inadequate grills until they wised up and spent the money on a good grill.
I also wasted money on an inadequate grill in an attempt to save money.
Hopefully the OP will learn /benefit from our mistakes

True and I agree that's why I personally went with the Weber Q, being cast iron it will last a very long time and is very easy to clean. If I to do it again I would.

Over time I will not need another so I look at the long term economics, if it lasts 5 years that $30 a year compared to buying one that lasts for two and then its done.

That should be a great grill. My Walmart one is very similar to that one and does pretty dang good.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I like to cook on charcoal when camping. Easier to lug the charcoal than the propane IMO. Anyone ever use a Weber Smokey Joe? Is it big enough? I'm also partial to Weber products.

Think I need to try it out. It has flame arrestor/diffusers too, so I would think it will do a decent job. Heck, I've been using a $10 Walmart globe style charcoal grill for two seasons!

I'm not suggesting you lug the Road trip around, it is too big for that.
I keep the road trip in the RV at all times and have a different grill for home.
Based on all the comments and my own experience I think you'd be better off returning the SS model and getting a Q or something else.
People really seem to love the Q

I have that grill (different name but looks exactly the same) been using it 2 seasons and works great for us. Plenty of power and heat to sear steaks and enough cooking surface to feed plenty on football tallgate weekends. Adapted mine to run off the low pressure aux propane hookup on the FW. Stores easily in the basement storage.
