My thoughts exactly. I can't imagine wanting to go there let alone stay there.
Well, millions of people can't all be wrong. :)
The swap shops can be done in less than a day. The real purpose most folks go there is to hang out with friends and get together with like-minded people.
There will be groups with every make of RV out there, sitting around the fire and comparing their goods and bads. There will be groups of geocachers, 4-wheelers, kayakers (the Colorado River is very close), ham radio buffs, hikers, cyclists, family reunions, RC and now drone enthusiasts, etc.
We've gone for years. As full-timers we have a group of other full-timers. 185 rigs showed up this year during a 2-week period and they all parked together in one area. There were potlucks, mini seminars on various topics, auctions for charities, cook-offs and approx. 30 other activities. If someone wants to do something it's posted on a whiteboard and it just happens. In the evening there are even travelogs shown on a screen hanging outside on a RV, movies, a huge campfire where folks bring out their musical instruments for a jam session.
Going by yourself is not as much fun as meeting up with a group and that's what is mainly done.
