Grey water dumping

Nope. Bad idea even in dispersed primitive camping, imo. Really bad...

Sort of depends to me. If it's been held, it can be pretty funky. If you're using the garden hose fitting on the sewer cap and it just passes through I don't see a difference between that and tent campers dumping dishwater. Definately want to check with the authority having jurisdiction over ther area you're in though. Resource violation tickets aren't cheap...

I still see dish pan drain basins. But with the newer 40 gal grey tanks, it doesn't make sense to dump it all in one place and at one time. And especially now when people "camp" in RV parks where your neighbor is 20' away, the density of rigs makes it difficult to get the proper dilution on grey water disposal.

Lots of places have different rules. A state campground we visit in Idaho has gravel filled gray water dump basins. We dump 2 or 3 five gallon buckets nightly. One in Ca. has told us to dump on a huge lawn area they have or near trees. ---- The key is to dump each day before it gets skunky. In today's GREEN world some new homes install gray water systems that keep the gray water from going in with the sewer and use it to water landscape.

Not allowed in SC state parks, but I have seen people attach a hose as stated above which is also against the law. I must admit I've thought of doing it myself. It's not that hard to make use of a portable tank.

In the 70s.. some of us burned our own trash also!! Whats next? We have evolved since then,, I suggest you do also!!

I've been to a couple of camp grounds that have a BRAY Water pit in each road feeding the trailers...

We always ask when camping in the Natl Forest etc... Most of the time they say go ahead and dump around the tree trunks...

I would definite not just let it drain on the ground at the camp site. The next guys that gets your site is going to have a stink I'm pretty sure...

Most of the time we carry our gray water to the localizied bath house building abd pour donw the pot. Then we bring back fresh water when available (with another water can) to add to our frest water tank. Sort of a daily routine

This is what we do at any rate and most of our RV Camping is OFF-ROAD back in the woods somewhere...

It's not allowed in Fl. state Park campgrounds, and is really not a good idea
to put the sink, shower etc. gray water on the ground, it can and will attract ants, and other bugs due to the grease and food particles and if kept in the tank very long can stink too.

So what do you do with the soap water that comes off of your hands when you wash them in the outside shower faucet? Or the tent camper who washed his dishes?
