Had to replace slide topper

Our bedroom topper was slowly tearing itself loose from the rail and needed replacing. Never having had a rig with slides, I relied on guys here for advice and the Majority said Toughtop.

I took their advice and I measured and ordered a topper. So happy with it, I can't tell you how happy. Before ordering I watched their video on replacing as well as one other from Youtube. The John C RV video was great, Toughtop's was too but John C's was more informative.

I was aided by my 16 year old DGS, I had him watch the videos so I didn't have to tell him what we would be doing. He is smart and learns fast while I am a lousy teacher, that is where yourtube shines.

The whole thing went of without a hitch, boy are the DW and I happy with how easy it was to remove old and install new and how great a new WHITE topper looks.

Thanks to the advice I received here, I am really happy with the end result.
  • we replaced both our slideout tops this year. I watch the RVGeek's video on YouTube many times and they saved us a lot of frustration
  • Did the same a couple years back...took about 1/2hr but probably could do it in 10-15min if I had to do it again.

    Well worth it.
  • Slightly off topic, but is putting new material on a power awning similarly not too difficult? Ours is starting to look bad with some holes. Just wondering.
